Home Run Scholars
Home Run Scholars
Home Run Scholars has helped increase the rate of students continuing on to post-secondary education by up to 300 per cent.

Earning a high school diploma is one of the first steps on the path to success. Through a $1-million, national partnership with Pathways to Education, the Home Run Scholars program is working to make Canada a Graduation Nation. Home Run Scholars helps youth in low-income communities graduate from high school and successfully transition into post-secondary education or training. Through tutoring, career mentoring, financial assistance, and one-to-one support, youth are overcoming barriers that can stand in the way of education.

The outcomes of this partnership include: increased student enrolment, fewer young people struggling in high school, increase in graduation rates, increased transition to post-secondary education and training, and a transformative shift in culture - young people believing they can graduate and achieve their dreams. Home Run Scholars has doubled high school graduation rates among participants, and dropout rates have declined by as much as 70 per cent.
