Emil Quincy Brown graduated from Harlan (Chicago, Ill.) High...helped his baseball team win the city championship in 1992 and 1993...Attended Indian River Community College (Fort Pierce, Fla.).
Made his 3rd straight Opening Day roster...struggled at the plate for most of
the year, but ended up hitting .257 with 6 home runs and led the team with
62 RBI despite playing only 113 games...marked the third consecutive season
he led the team in RBI...Recorded an RBI every 5.9 at bats, besting his totals from the past 2 seasons
(1/6.3 in 2005 and 1/6.5 in 2006)...Equaled his career high with 12 stolen bases in 14 attempts (also 2001 w/ PIT

dating to 2006, the longest homerless stretch of his Royals career and longest
stretch since a 43-game stretch from May 2, 2001 to April 6, 2005...Hit the go-ahead 3-run home run, his 1st of the season, in the 8th inning on
May 18 at Colorado...Hit a game-winning sac fly in the 11th inning of a 3-2 win over Seattle on July 2...Equaled his career high by recording 4 hits on Aug. 25 vs. Cleveland (also June
