As much fun as it is to lead cheers for the Phillies at the game, it's even more fun reading about baseball in books, newspapers and magazines.
I love to check books out from the library that detail the history of baseball. It's fun to read about how the game has changed since its inception. Players dressed in funny looking uniforms, shared baseball gloves and teams didn't even have mascots!
The coolest thing about reading is that you can learn so much about the things that interest YOU the most by going to a bookstore or your local library!
My mom, Phoebe, used to read all the Dr. Seuss books to me when I was a baby Phanatic on the Galapagos Islands. My favorite was "Horton Hatches the Egg". But when I arrived in Philadelphia I could be found reading the Phillies Baseball Encyclopedia all the time. I also like to read books about the city of Philadelphia, outer space, animals ("Charlotte's Web" was one of my PHAVORITES!) and of course cookbooks - because I love to eat!
Over the years I have been able to go on adventures in my imagination by reading books but I have also been able to go on real life adventures. I wanted to share some of my favorite moments with children and their parents so I became the star of my very own children's book series.
