This photo was taken about 10 seconds after Neal proposed to me at the Shea Bridge in Citi Field! With my name being SHEA and the Mets being one of our favorite common loves, this was the perfect spot to get engaged! It was so exciting for us ~ men came up to shake Neal's hand and the crowd around us went wild! When we got married this past September, our cake had hearts all around it in what colors? Orange and Blue of course!

The Mets and I share a common history ...we are both both fifty and fantastic. I grew up in Queens and have been a fan since I was three years old. My favorite recollection as a Mets fan was my trip to Tokyo, Japan in 2000 to watch the N.Y. Mets play the Chicago Cubs in their opening series. The highlight was leading fans to cheer "Iki, Iki Mets" the japanese equivalent to "Let's Go Mets". The usually subdued japanese crowd got loud and cheered the N.Y. Mets on. I got to pose with Mr. Met and met Bobby Valentine, Mike Piazza and Eduardo Alfonso. People might say I was crazy to travel half way around the world to see the Mets play, but they're my Mets...they are my team!

Ever since I was a little boy living in NJ, I remember my Mom loving the Mets. I always dreamed of taking her to a Mets game again since she lives in Puerto Rico now..A few years back I was able to take her and just to see the smile on her face cheering on her team is a memory I will never forget.. My mother made me the true Met fan that I am today.. thanks Mom:)

Back in the 70's my favorite player, Craig Swan, came to a store in Levittown to sign baseballs. Being a naive ten year old I assumed they would give me a baseball. My solution was to find a flat rock in the parking lot. After brief pause, it was his first rock of the day, he smiled and signed it - Amazing! Over thirty years later my brother gave my the real thing. My rock and ball are a great reminder of baseball in a ten year old's mind, Craig's good nature, and a brother who loves the Mets too.

I was a chaperone for my brother's 4th grade trip to Shea on April 22,1970. His first game ever and Seaver struck out 19 batters. He has been a fan ever since and still keeps score how I taught him.

Took My Girl, and My Little girl to their first game on August 23 vs the Brewers..Mets lost but we had a great time. This was after the Mr Met Dash.
