Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is transportation provided?
A: No. Transportation is not provided.

Q: Is lunch provided?
A: Campers may either bring their own lunch or purchase lunch from concessions stands at the facilities. Note: Not all of the facilities provide concession stands who offer a complete lunch.

Q: What happens if it rains?
A: Each site has an indoor facility in case of inclement weather.

Q: What does my child need to bring?
A: Each Academy member should come dressed to play baseball. This would include baseball pants, sneakers and cleats, bat, baseball glove, batting helmet and athletic supporter for boys. Catchers are encouraged to bring their own gear. The Academy provides helmets, bats and catchers gear but players should bring their own gear if possible. Please mark each piece of equipment before the commencement of camp. Also, players should report to the first day of camp in a baseball hat and bring sunscreen in their bag. We will provide each player with their camp hat and T shirt after morning evaluations on Monday.

Q: Can girls attend?
A: Yes, we have had many girls attend both our baseball and softball programs.

Q: What kind of health form is needed?
A: Ask your doctor for a health clearance form stating your child is able to participate in sports. An immunization record is not necessary.

Q: What if my child becomes ill?
A: At the camp session commencement, the Camp Director will introduce the Academy Staff including the Coaches, Administrative Director and the Camp Nurse or EMT. If your child becomes ill, his or her coach will bring them to the Camp Nurse and both the Camp Director and Administrative Director will be advised. Either the Administrative Director or the Camp Nurse will call the Emergency Contact Numbers you have provided in your application to advise you of the situation and discuss whether you will need to come to pick up your child. If it is a medical emergency we will take whatever action necessary to get your child to a doctor or hospital. Please see the WAIVER, RELEASE AND INDEMNIFICATION SECTION of your PLAYER ENROLLMENT CONTRACT for more information.

Q: Can my child be placed with a friend?
A: Academy members are placed by age and ability. Every effort will be made to accommodate a request to place friends and family members together but the Camp Director must approve the arrangement. The Camp Director will not place a player in an age group other than his own without the parents and the Academy Directors written consent.

Q: Should I send my child with water?
A: It is always a good idea, although every station has a water supply and there are frequent breaks for water.
