 >  AN AFTERNOON WITH THE '69 METS

Saturday, August 22 Caesars Club - Citi Field
The 1969 season was filled with a number of unforgettable moments - Seaver's "Imperfect Game", the black cat and shoe polish incidents, Agee's remarkable catches - that ultimately led the Mets to their first World Series title in franchise history. On the afternoon of August 22nd, 2009, 300 Mets fans had the chance to relive these moments with the players who made them happen in the Caesars Club at Citi Field.

The Mets Foundation's "An Afternoon with the 1969 Mets" welcomed back over 20 players and coaches from the Miracle Mets, headlined by two Hall of Famers and baseball icons - Tom Seaver and Nolan Ryan. Other players and coaches in attendance included Ed Charles, Duffy Dyer, Wayne Garrett, Rod Gaspar, Gary Gentry, Jerry Grote, Bud Harrelson, Al Jackson, Cleon Jones, Jerry Koosman, Ed Kranepool, Jim McAndrew, Bobby Pfeil, Ron Swoboda, Ron Taylor, Al Weis, Joe Pignatano, and Eddie Yost.

Proceeds from the afternoon went to the Mets Foundation, which funds and promotes a variety of charitable causes, and continues its mission to invest in the future of our community and provide assistance to myriad organizations that benefit children and support other worthy causes.

The Mets Foundation's "Afternoon with the 1969 Mets" was a hit for the guests and players alike. The Miracle Mets were able to catch up with their former teammates and fans, all while raising money for a good cause.
