From the first inning on, Oliver Perez was not on his game, giving up at least one run in every frame he pitched except the fourth. The tough loss to the Mariners also saw the ejections of manager Jerry Manuel and Carlos Beltran, who were both tossed for arguing balls and strikes in the fourth.
