Bats back righty's efforts
Mets 9, Marlins 2
Carlos Beltran is greeted by Carlos Delgado after his two-run homer. (Lynn Sladky/AP)
John Maine became the latest to attempt to throw the Mets' first no-no, but he had his bid broken up by Miguel Cabrera leading off the seventh. But thanks in part to a 17-hit attack, which included Carlos Beltran's two-run homer and four hits by Jose Reyes, Maine cruised to a memorable win.
