Carlos Delgado smacked a three-run homer off Yankees starter Aaron Small, and the next batter, David Wright, hit a solo homer as an encore as the Mets held on to defeat the Bombers at Shea. Reliever Duaner Sanchez escaped a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the eighth inning, allowing just one run.
