Making his first Opening Day start since 1999, Curt Schilling looked the part of ace in shutting down the Rangers over seven innings. David Ortiz got off to a good start also, hitting a two-run homer to go along with an RBI double.

Kevin Millwood's Texas debut went well early, but the potent Red Sox offense got to the right-hander in the game's middle innings as the Rangers fell on Opening Day. Ian Kinsler recorded his first Major League hit in his first career at-bat, singling off Curt Schilling.
