NEW YORK -- With the Mets and Yankees playing in the Subway Series, tonight's 11 ET episode of the MTV2 series "Off the Bat" will have a natural local flavor.
Mets outfielder Eric Young Jr. taped a segment for the show during the day on Monday, before homering and helping his team take a 9-7 win at Yankee Stadium. He faces Yankees fan and "Off the Bat" series host Fat Joe in a game called the "Segway Series." In the segment, Young and Fat Joe each captain a relay team of MLB Fan Cave Dwellers, who race to accomplish a series of tasks while riding segways through the city.
Melanie Iglesias talks to "Million Dollar Arm" star and longtime Cardinals fan Jon Hamm about his own favorite baseball movies and which Hollywood actors would be good baseball players. You can also watch Hamm's appearance on the MLB.com show Express Written Consent.
Previous episodes of "Off the Bat" have featured Red Sox slugger David Ortiz -- the executive producer of the show -- as well as in-studio guests Robinson Cano of the Mariners; Bryce Harper of the Nationals; Adam Jones of the Orioles; CC Sabathia of the Yankees; David Price and Chris Archer of the Rays; and Cardinals pitchers Adam Wainwright, Shelby Miller and Michael Wacha.
"Off the Bat" is a 30-minute series hosted from the MLB Fan Cave airing at 11 p.m. ET every Tuesday on MTV2. Each week, MLB players come to the studio for interviews and segments with series hosts Sway, Fat Joe, Chris Distefano and Iglesias, spotlighting the stars' personalities and passions. The Fan Cave is currently in its fourth season at Fourth Street and Broadway in Manhattan.
