Mets officially make 710 WOR their new radio home
Club announces a five-year partnership with Clear Channel Media and Entertainment

The Mets have agreed to a five-year multimedia partnership with Clear Channel Media and Entertainment, making 710 WOR the new radio home of the club.
In a press release issued by the Mets on Monday morning, the club announced that WOR will broadcast regular season, postseason and Spring Training games, along with both pregame and postgame shows.
"This breakthrough partnership provides us with the ability to serve our loyal fans and attract a new generation of fans through Clear Channel's massive reach and ability to target key demographics across the New York market," Mets chief operating officer Jeff Wilpon said in the statement. "Our agreement delivers more promotion of the club to a broader audience than this franchise ever has had before with additional opportunities to advance our efforts to make Citi Field one of the leading sports and entertainment destinations in the country."
WFAN had broadcast Mets games since the station's inception in 1987.
Longtime radio play-by-play man Howie Rose, who had been with WFAN since '87, is expected to remain the voice of the team. Rose has been the Mets' lead play-by-play announcer since 2006. It is not clear whether radio analyst Josh Lewin will join Rose with Clear Channel.
The Mets will also work with Clear Chanel to enhance Citi Field's in-game entertainment. At the same time, Clear Channel will "explore the production and promotion of top name concerts, festivals and large-scale entertainment events at Citi Field," the release read.
Like WFAN, WOR is a 50,000-watt station. In addition to WOR, Clear Channel owns five popular FM stations in New York, including WHTZ (Z100) and WLTW (Lite FM), which the Mets plan to use for Mets-related programming and marketing.
