Alderson to take part in live video chat Thursday

With less than a week to go before pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training, Mets fans are undoubtedly excited for the upcoming season.

Still, with position battles and exciting new prospects -- and key departed players -- there are plenty of questions surrounding the team as it prepares to head south to Port St. Lucie, Fla.

Mets fans will get a chance to ask their questions Thursday, when general manager Sandy Alderson is scheduled to take part in a live video chat at 1 p.m. ET at Citi Field. The chat will stream live on mets.com, with Jeremy Brisiel as the host.

There are sure to be a number of questions Mets faithful will want answered.

Who will fill the three outfield spots? And could free-agent center fielder Michael Bourn perhaps be one answer?

Will top prospects catcher Travis d'Arnaud and right-hander Zack Wheeler come north with the team?

What is to be expected from right-hander Noah Syndergaard, another prospect acquired for National League Cy Young Award winner R.A. Dickey?

Fans can send those questions, and others, via Twitter using #AskSandy.
