By Joey Nowak / MLB.com
In eight games, Wright tallied 13 hits and five doubles, while tying for second in the league with seven RBIs and 21 total bases. He hit .500 (13-for-26) with a .594 on-base percentage.
The weekly award, the third of his career, comes as Wright continues his hot streak since coming off the disabled list on July 22. Since then, the third baseman is hitting .325 (51-for-157) with six homers, 31 RBIs and 27 runs scored.
The Mets won six of the eight contests, with Wright tallying at least one hit in each of the ballgames. He had five multihit games in the week.
Wright began the week by going 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs on Monday, as the Mets went on to sweep the Marlins in a doubleheader. On Friday, he homered, doubled and drove in three runs en route to a 7-3 win against the Nationals.
With the double Friday, it marked the seventh consecutive season that Wright has notched at least 20 two-baggers.
Teammates Lucas Duda (.286, two homers, six RBIs and seven runs) and R.A. Dickey (2-0, 2.08 ERA, seven strikeouts, a walk in 13 innings pitched) were also noted for their success this week.
