Mets slog through wet loss to Orioles
Rain limits Pelfrey to 13 pitches; Church notches two hits, RBI

Mets at the plate: The road team didn't get any hits in the first inning and began pulling its starters when the game resumed after an hour-plus rain delay. Ryan Church, Brian Schneider and Jeremy Reed all had hits for the Mets. Marlon Anderson started a sixth-inning rally with a base hit and eventually scored on Schneider's second hit of the game.
Orioles at the plate: Adam Jones singled twice and scored twice. Aubrey Huff delivered a sacrifice fly in the first inning and a double in the fifth. Luke Scott, who homered twice on Friday, drilled another long ball in the fourth inning Sunday. Cesar Izturis had two hits, and Robby Hammock drilled a two-run homer in the sixth.Mets on the mound: Mike Pelfrey recorded only one out before torrential rains put the game on pause. Brian Stokes worked through the third inning, allowing two hits and walking two batters. Sean Green gave up a home run, while Casey Fossum allowed three hits and a run in the fifth inning. Orioles on the mound: Koji Uehara threw a perfect inning before the rains came, retiring with two strikeouts. Chris Ray, Jamie Walker, George Sherrill and Danys Baez all threw scoreless innings in relief. Radhames Liz gave up two hits, a walk and an earned run in the sixth inning. Grapefruit League records: Mets 13-14; Orioles 13-16 Up next: The two teams will play again Monday, meeting in a rare night game. Baltimore will travel to Port St. Lucie, Fla., for a 7:05 ET game, pitting the O's Alfredo Simon against the Mets' Oliver Perez.
