Reyes, Mets go batty against Marlins
Perez, bullpen allow just three hits to Florida's strong lineup

Marlins at the plate: Cameron Maybin had an infield single in the fourth inning, and he also walked. The Marlins collected just three hits against the Mets.
Mets at the plate: Batting third, Jose Reyes hit a grand slam and a solo home run in his second and third exhibition-game at-bats. The second home run came against former Mets left-hander Willie Collazo, who also allowed a two-run blast to Carlos Beltran. Reyes had six RBIs, and Beltran had three. Carlos Delgado had two opposite-field hits.
Marlins on the mound: Right-hander Chris Volstad allowed one run -- driven in by Reyes in the first -- in two innings. His successor, Rick VandenHurk, struggled -- three walks, two hits and five runs (four earned) in 1 2/3 innings. Collazo allowed three runs in two home runs.
Mets on the mound: The Mets allowed just one hit, an infield single by Maybin in the fourth against Dillon Gee, in the first seven innings. Oliver Perez (two), Gee (two), Jon Switzer (one) and Nelson Figueroa (two) were the pitchers. Only Perez and Figueroa allowed walks.
Grapefruit League records: Mets 2-0; Marlins 0-1-1.
Up next: The Mets will face the Cardinals in Port St. Lucie at 1:10 p.m. ET on Thursday after a 10 a.m. home game against the Italian team from the World Baseball Classic. Mike Pelfrey starts in the morning and Livan Hernandez in the afternoon. Todd Wellemeyer is to start for St. Louis.
The Marlins will play the Orioles at home in Jupiter, Fla., with Ryan Tucker starting opposite Koji Uehara and the Orioles at 1:05 p.m.
