It's a small sample, but Cliff Floyd has three hits, including a home run, against Lawrence, and left-handed batters are batting .310 against the Padres starter, 60 points higher than right-handed hitters.

The last time Pedro Martinez didn't pitch beyond the fifth inning -- aside from a tuneup for the postseason last year -- was May 1 last year against the Rangers. ... Jose Reyes batted .374 in 91 at-bats during his 20-game streak, which equaled the fourth longest in club history. Reyes streak began against the Braves on July 17, and the Mets played the Padres the next three games.
