Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association today announced New York Mets righthanded pitcher Dillon Gee has been selected to the team of MLB All-Stars travelling to Taiwan this November to play against the Chinese Taipei national team in the 2011 Taiwan All-Star Series.
Gee, 25, will participate in the five-game series between the MLB All-Stars and the Chinese Taipei national team that is set to take place November 1-November 6 in three different cities-New Taipei City (XinZhuang Stadium) on November 1, Taichung (Intercontinental Stadium) on November 3-4 and Kaohsiung (Chengcing Lake Stadium) on November 5-6.
Gee went 13-6 (.684) this year to post the best single-season winning percentage of any Mets rookie in franchise history.
