Mets announce preliminary 2012 schedule
Opening Day for 50th Anniversary Season Is Thursday, April 5 at 1:10 p.m. at Citi Field

FLUSHING, N.Y., September 14, 2011 - The New York Mets today announced their 2012 preliminary schedule starting with Opening Day for their 50th anniversary season at home Thursday, April 5 at 1:10 p.m. against the Atlanta Braves at Citi Field.

The opening homestand continues Saturday, April 7 and Sunday, April 8 with games against the Braves at 1:10 p.m., followed by a three-game series with the Washington Nationals April 9-11.

The National League East division-rival Philadelphia Phillies' first trip to New York is set for May 28-30. The Mets will host the Subway Series June 22-24 at Citi Field after visiting the Bronx June 8-10.

The other Interleague matchup at Citi Field is with the Baltimore Orioles, June 18-20. The Mets round out their Interleague schedule with road trips to face the Toronto Blue Jays May, 18-20 and Tampa Bay Rays June 12-14.

The majority of 2012 home games at Citi Field will start at 7:10 p.m. for night contests and 1:10 p.m. for day games -- with the exceptions of 12:10 p.m. first pitches Wednesday, July 25 against the Washington Nationals and Thursday, August 9 versus the Miami Marlins.

The Mets will play 1:10 p.m. day games on Memorial Day (Monday, May 28 vs. Phillies), Father's Day (Sunday, June 17 vs. Cincinnati Reds), and Independence Day (Wednesday, July 4 vs. Phillies).

The Mets will finish the regular season with a six-game road trip to Atlanta and Miami, concluding on Sunday, October 3.

The 2012 schedule is subject to change, including all Saturday and Sunday games, which are subject to Major League Baseball's national broadcast agreements with FOX and ESPN.
