FLUSHING, N.Y., March 31, 2011 - The New York Mets today announced the team has placed outfielder Jason Bay on the 15-Day Disabled List with a strained left rib cage. The move is backdated to March 25.
In other news, the team placed lefthanded pitcher Johan Santana on the 15-Day Disabled list, recovering from left elbow surgery.
Outfielder Lucas Duda was placed on the active roster in Bay's spot.
