The New York Mets today announced that tickets for the college baseball game between St. John's University and Georgetown University - the first event at Citi Field - sold out this morning in 45 minutes.

Last season, the Red Storm qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the 31st time in school history as head coach Ed Blankmeyer's squad advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in the past five seasons. Notable Mets alumni who have played for St. John's include John Franco and Frank Viola.

The Mets in December announced a two-game exhibition series against the Boston Red Sox at Citi Field Friday, April 3 at 6:10 p.m. and Saturday, April 4 at 1:10 p.m. Tickets for these games, benefiting the Police Athletic League and other area charities, will go on sale at Mets.com and by phone at 718-507-TIXX. The sale date will be announced shortly.
