FLUSHING -- Steve Marinchak has been named the 2006 MLB "Team Retailer of the Year" by Major League Baseball Properties for his commitment to driving merchandise sales at Shea Stadium through a successful partnership with the New York Mets. As Senior Retail Division Manager for ARAMARK, a leading provider of professional services and operator of Shea Stadium's retail services, Marinchak is responsible for the growth and success of the Mets' team store locations and merchandising of souvenirs at the stadium.

"We are proud to recognize Steve Marinchak and his staff as the 'Team Retailer of the Year' for 2006," said Howard Smith, Senior Vice President, Licensing, Major League Baseball Properties. "In a year in which the New York Mets created a tremendous level of excitement on the field, Steve and his team succeeded in servicing a very passionate and enthusiastic fan base with a first class retail operation."

"The Mets salute the recognition of ARAMARK's Steve Marinchak as the 2006 MLB 'Team Retailer of the Year,'" said Dave Howard, Executive Vice President, Business Operations, New York Mets. "In a year of record ticket sales, Steve's creative leadership of the ARAMARK team at Shea Stadium, coupled with his collaboration with the Mets' Director of Concessions, Promotions & Fan Services Michael Landeen, set a new standard of merchandising success for our club. We thank and congratulate Steve for his significant contributions and efforts in setting sales records."

Marinchak is the first ARAMARK retail manager to receive the award, which is given annually by Major League Baseball to an MLB team retailer who best aligns with MLB Properties to maximize resources that create a unique and memorable shopping experience for fans. Furthermore, the honor recognizes the exemplary working relationship between MLB Properties and its Club partners. Marinchak, who resides in Queens, NY, has been with ARAMARK for 15 years and has served as the company's retail division manager at Shea Stadium since 2002.

"This award reflects the hard work and dedication of the retail staff at Shea Stadium," said Marinchak. "Our partnership with MLB Properties and the Mets organization enables us to provide Mets fans with superior service and offer a diverse selection of merchandise and memorabilia throughout the ballpark."
