FLUSHING, N.Y. -- The New York Mets today announced the creation of a new fan celebration song, "Our Team. Our Time," which will play at Mets games during the 2006 season at Shea Stadium. The song will debut tonight as the Mets start a three-game homestand against the Atlanta Braves. TJS Marketing Group of Smithtown, N.Y. and Breakthru Productions of Orange, N.J. spontaneously created the new song for the Mets following the off-season excitement and interest in the team and the Mets' best start since 1985. The song plays off the 2006 Mets marketing slogan, "The Team. The Time. The Mets." "We are thrilled and flattered that TJS and Breakthru picked up on the excitement of the season and recorded this upbeat, high-energy song," said Dave Howard, Executive Vice President, Business Operations, New York Mets. "We hope that fans catch on to 'Our Team. Our Time' as a rallying cry for the start of a thrilling season at Shea." Fans can hear the song at Mets.com, the team's official website. The Mets will explore use of the song for in-stadium entertainment and potential commercial release based on fan feedback. "We are extremely optimistic about the Mets this season so we wrote, recorded, and produced the song and sent it to the Mets," said Thomas Scandaliato, President, TJS Marketing Group. "We are hopeful that this exciting and uplifting song can become a staple and part of the soundtrack at Shea for many, many celebrations in the year ahead."
