    Kansas City Royals outfielder Lorenzo Cain announced today that he is dropping the appeal of his two-game suspension handed down by Major League Baseball on April 25 and will begin serving it with today's 1:10 p.m. contest against the Detroit Tigers.

    Kansas City Royals pitcher Yordano Ventura announced today that he is dropping the appeal of his seven-game suspension handed down by Major League Baseball on Saturday and will begin serving it with tonight's 7:10 p.m. game against the Detroit Tigers at Kauffman Stadium. Ventura was one of four Royals players to receive a suspension after an on-field incident at Chicago's U.S. Cellular Field April 23.

    The Kansas City Royals announced today that only scattered single and standing-room tickets remain for games this Friday, Saturday and Sunday vs. Detroit, plus the Thursday, May 7 game, a 1:10 p.m. matinee vs. Cleveland. Standing-room tickets for the weekend games vs. Detroit are available for $20 at royals.com/tickets, with May 7 standing-room tickets available for $15.

    The Kansas City Royals return to Kauffman Stadium to host American League Central teams, the Detroit Tigers (April 30-May 3) and Cleveland Indians (May 5-7). Four-time Rawlings Gold Glove Award winner Alex Gordon will appear at a youth tournament on Saturday, May 2. General Manager Dayton Moore will also launch his book, More Than a Season, during the off day of the homestand on May 4.
