    The Chicago Cubs today announced the Sunday, August 14 game vs. the St. Louis Cardinals at Wrigley Field, currently listed as "TBD," has been selected for an exclusive national telecast by ESPN and is now scheduled to begin at 7:08 p.m. CT.

  • Cubs acquire LHP Mike Montgomery and RHP Jordan Pries from Seattle

    The Chicago Cubs today acquired left-handed pitcher Mike Montgomery and right-handed pitcher Jordan Pries from the Seattle Mariners for infielder Dan Vogelbach and right-handed pitcher Paul Blackburn. Montgomery is expected to join the Cubs on Friday in Milwaukee while Pries will report to Triple-A Iowa.

  • Cubs sign 24 players from First-Year Player Draft

    The Chicago Cubs today announced they have signed a total of 24 players selected in the 2016 First-Year Player Draft in advance of today's signing deadline.

  • Cubs activate C David Ross, LHP Clayton Richard

    The Chicago Cubs today activated catcher David Ross off of the seven-day concussion disabled list and activated left-handed pitcher Clayton Richard off of the 15-day disabled list. Right-handed pitcher Trevor Cahill has been placed on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to July 9) with patellar tendinitis in his right knee and infielder Munenori Kawasaki was optioned to Triple-A Iowa. In addition, right-handed pitcher Joel Peralta has cleared waivers and elected free agency.

    The Chicago Cubs today announced the Sunday, July 31 game vs. the Seattle Mariners at Wrigley Field, currently listed as "TBD," has been selected for an exclusive national telecast by ESPN and is now scheduled to begin at 7:08 p.m. CT.

    The Chicago Cubs return home from an eventful All-Star break to host the Texas Rangers July 15-17 and the New York Mets July 18-20.

  • Cubs recall INF Munenori Kawasaki from Triple-A Iowa

    The Chicago Cubs today recalled infielder Munenori Kawasaki from Triple-A Iowa and optioned infielder Jeimer Candelario to Triple-A.

  • Cubs sign right-hander Thomas Hatch

    The Chicago Cubs today announced they have signed right-handed pitcher Thomas Hatch, the club's third round pick (104th overall) of the 2016 Draft. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Overall, the Cubs have signed 21 selections to date in advance of the July 15 signing deadline.

  • Cubs activate INF Tommy La Stella; recall RHP Adam Warren from Triple-A

    The Chicago Cubs today activated infielder Tommy La Stella off of the 15-day disabled list and recalled right-handed pitcher Adam Warren from Triple-A Iowa. In corresponding roster moves, catcher David Ross has been placed on the seven-day concussion disabled list and right-handed pitcher Joel Peralta has been designated for assignment.
