SEATTLE -- David Ortiz gained another hit on Monday night. Hours after a scoring decision from last week was reversed, Ortiz was nearly robbed on a shoestring catch by Mariners right fielder Stefen Romero in the top of the ninth inning of the Red Sox's 12-3 loss.
But manager John Farrell challenged the call, and it was overturned.
The replay clearly showed that the ball bounced before going into Romero's glove.
Ortiz wound up scoring on a sacrifice fly, but the Red Sox were in the process of getting romped by Seattle.
Of Farrell's 13 challenges this season, eight have been overturned.
