MIAMI - The Marlins Foundation today announced their 2014 Charity Partners: Feeding South Florida, Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired, Special Olympics Florida and Young at Art Children's Museum. The four organizations, who will each receive a $25,000 contribution from the Marlins Foundation, will be honored during a pregame ceremony with jersey presentations on Saturday, April 19 at 6:30 p.m. at Marlins Park.

"The Marlins Foundation has donated over $4 million in philanthropy since the approval of Marlins Park. In addition, the Marlins Ayudan program has volunteered more than 21,000 hours of service in South Florida," said Marlins President David Samson. "To continue our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, the Marlins Foundation has selected four impactful organizations to empower and designate as our official 2014 Charity Partners."

To be considered a 2014 Charity Partner, organizations needed to provide direct and unique programming for youth through educational, arts and baseball-related programming, more specifically by providing unique experiences for kids in schools, parks and on the water.

The Marlins will support the 2014 Charity Partners through the following ways:

Feeding South Florida - The Marlins will sponsor a year-round nutrition education program for local youth. This program is comprised of elementary school nutrition, hands-on learning through the use of interactive anatomy models, and physical activity. The partnership will also provide several food distributions throughout South Florida.

Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired - The Marlins will assist in the implementation of the 2014 mobile eye care program (Florida Heiken Children's Vision Program) in an effort to increase the number of low-income children who receive free eye examinations and eyeglasses when prescribed.

Special Olympics Florida - The Marlins will be the official sponsor of Special Olympics Softball in Miami. The support of the Marlins Foundation will provide a higher threshold of opportunity for training, competition, personal growth and community engagement for the athletes in the program.

Young At Art Children's Museum - Young At Art Museum will partner with the Marlins organization to enhance the impact and enjoyment of Marlins Park's Art in Public Places exhibition for students and the general public.
