The New York Mets today announced the team will add lefthanded pitcher Josh Edgin to the team’s taxi squad tomorrow and then the active roster on Friday.
Edgin, 25, was 3-2 with one save and a 3.89 ERA (16 earned runs/37.0 innings) in 35 games for Buffalo (AAA) of the International League this season. He struck out 40 in 37.0 innings. The 6-1, 225-pound native of Lewistown, PA also pitched for Binghamton (AA) of the Eastern League this year, recording two saves and a 1.42 ERA (one earned run/6.1 innings) in six games
Originally drafted in the 30th round of the 2010 First-Year Player Draft, Edgin was a South Atlantic League All-Star in 2011 for Savannah. He also appeared in 10 games with the Mets in Spring Training this season, and was unscored upon in 10.1 innings.
