After testing free agency last week when designated for assignment by the Mets, Nelson Figueroa decided to re-sign with his old club after all on Saturday.

Figueroa was designated for assignment by the Mets after allowing three runs in six innings in a start against the Brewers on Sunday to make room for left-hander Casey Fossum in the bullpen. But Figueroa decided to rejoin the organization and will pitch at Triple-A Buffalo.

Figueroa, 34, went 3-3 with a 4.57 ERA last season with the Mets in 17 appearances, including six starts.

The Mets also signed infielder Mike Lamb to a Minor League deal, and he will join Figueroa in Buffalo.

Lamb, 33, batted .235 with one homer and 32 RBIs in 92 games with the Twins and Brewers last year.
