Church had sought $2.45 million and the Mets' proposal had been $1.75 million. He is the fifth Mets player to settle among the six who exchanged numbers. Aaron Heilman settled before the proposals were announced. Endy Chavez, Pedro Feliciano and Jorge Sosa also settled, leaving Oliver Perez as the lone pending case.
The Mets, who have not gone to hearing in an arbitration case since 1992, submitted $4,725,000 as their proposal. Perez, represented by agent Scott Boras, is seeking $6.5 million.
