Pelfrey navigates through trouble in five-inning outing

Orioles on the mound: Wright, making his fourth start, walked three and allowed two hits and two runs in four innings. Bell struck out Beltran and retired Carlos Delgado with the bases loaded in the fifth.
Mets on the mound: Pelfrey withstood early resistance and had decent outing. Pitching inside more, he walked none and allowed seven hits, including two in the first when the Orioles scored their only run against him. He threw 72 pitches and completed his work with 18 more in the bullpen. He was pleased with his damage control. Jon Adkins threw a perfect sixth and Pedro Feliciano struck out the side in the seventh.Grapefruit League records: Orioles 9-10-2; Mets 8-14-1.
