Nationals on the mound: Jerome Williams, who began his third Spring Training appearance with a 10.38 ERA in 4 1/3 innings, shut down the Mets on two hits and two walks in four innings. He struck out two. Levale Speigner pitched two shutout innings.Mets on the mound: Park pitched ineffectively for three innings, allowing seven runs on three walks and seven hits. Three of the runs were unearned, but three of the hits were home runs. He had little command of his fastball, and left-handed hitters hurt him most. Sosa, who had allowed three home runs in eight innings in his first three appearances, kept the ball in the park this time, but allowed six runs and eight hits in two innings.
