Marlins at the plate: On a rainy night, Matt Treanor completed the Marlins' rally from four runs down with an RBI double in the eighth inning. Mike Jacobs' two-run single tied the game at 4. Hanley Ramirez blasted a two-run homer, his third of the spring, in the seventh. Miguel Cabrera had a first-inning single, continuing his strong spring. Eric Reed, competing for the center field job, went 2-for-3 with a double.

Mets at the plate: Jose Reyes singled and scored on David Wright's RBI single to left in the first inning. Reyes' second single to open the third ignited another rally. The All-Star shortstop stole second and scored on Carlos Delgado's RBI single. Jose Valentin belted a two-run homer in the sixth inning.

Marlins on the mound: Sergio Mitre surrendered an unearned run in the first inning. The right-hander worked two innings, giving up one run on two hits with three strikeouts. He threw 41 pitches before yielding to Yusmeiro Petit in the third. Petit worked four innings, giving up three runs (two earned), with three strikeouts and he tossed 63 pitches. Matt Lindstrom worked a perfect seventh inning, striking out one and throwing 11 pitches (seven strikes).

Mets on the mound: Tom Glavine worked a spring-high five innings, scattering three hits and no runs. The veteran left-hander threw 84 pitches, with 44 for strikes. He struck out two, walked two and hit a batter. Aaron Heilman was impressive in the sixth, striking out two. Pitching for the first time in a week because of elbow tendinitis, Heilman threw 14 pitches (12 strikes).

Grapefruit League records: Marlins 7-10-2; Mets 6-11-1.

Up next: The Mets have a split-squad Saturday, with Chan Ho Park getting the start versus the Nationals at Port St. Lucie, Fla., at 1:10 p.m. ET. Jerome Williams gets the call for Washington. In the other game, at 1:05 p.m. against the Orioles in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Aaron Sele makes the start, while Baltimore goes with Erik Bedard.

The Marlins face the Orioles in Jupiter, Fla., at 1:05 p.m., with Dontrelle Willis starting. Hayden Penn starts for Baltimore.
