Since 1961, The Twins have conducted free youth baseball and softball clinics. Created by longtime Twins scout Angelo Giuliani, the clinic program promotes the games of baseball and softball to boys and girls throughout the region. Since the program's inception, more than 800,000 youth have taken part in Twins clinics in the Upper Midwest and Southwest Florida.
The baseball clinic format focuses on throwing, hitting and fielding and was developed by Twins General Manager, Terry Ryan and former Twins executive, Bob Gebhard.
The softball clinic format was developed by Play Ball! Minnesota Terry Ryan Award Winner and long-time softball instructor Jim Berbee.
The Play Ball! Minnesota Youth Clinics have always been, and will continue to be, available to participants and communities free of charge. Funding for the Play Ball! Minnesota Baseball Clinics is provided by the Twins Community Fund and Great River Energy.
Applications for host communities are being accepted now. You can bring a 2015 Play Ball! Minnesota Youth Clinic to your community! For more information on host responsibilities and to apply to host a clinic in 2015, please click the button below.
